Townsend Outstanding Communicator in
Agriculture Competition
(Presentational Speaking)

Professionals in science and agriculture must be able to present and speak effectively about their disciplines with non-experts and members of the public. Why not sharpen your communication skills and perhaps win a cash prize by participating in the Townsend Outstanding Communicator in Agriculture Competition?

This competition is meant to be fun. It's a way for you to be creative while addressing an important issue related to food, agriculture or the environment. In this competition, you will not be presenting in front of a live audience. Rather, you will create a multi-media presentation in a format of your choice that combines audio, pictures and images, such as a video, a narrated photo slideshow or a narrated PowerPoint presentation. See the links below for guidelines and entry instructions.

Entry Submission Deadline:

  • All entries must be submitted by Monday April 17, 2017 at 5:00 pm to Elizabeth Byers-Doten in AGAD 229
  • A flash drive must be turned in with the presentation on it, or a YouTube link can be sent to Elizabeth Byers ( Students will receive an email confirmation that verifies the link works and that it was received.
  • Winners will be announced at the Purdue College of Agriculture Spring Banquet tenatively April 26.
