Agricultural Communication

Indiana Prairie Farmer Outstanding Freshman in Agricultural Communication Award
Recognizes a qualified and incoming freshman, based on scholarship, extracurricular activities, and commitment to the agricultural communication program at Purdue. The winner receives a plaque and a $500 scholarship award. In addition, the student will be interviewed for a feature story in Indiana Prairie Farmer upon arriving to campus in the fall.
     Application will be available in mid-December


Outstanding Sophomore in Agricultural Communication Award – Farm World
Recognizes a rising sophomore for his/her contributions to the public understanding of agriculture, outstanding academic performance, and involvement in professional and community activities. The winner receives a plaque and a $500 scholarship award.
     Application will be available in mid-December


Outstanding Junior in Agricultural Communication Award – The Farmer’s Exchange
Recognizes a rising junior studying agricultural communication at Purdue University. The $500 award and plaque recognizes scholarship and involvement, as well as outstanding journalistic performance and potential. A plaque will be awarded to the winning recipient on behalf of The Farmer’s Exchange at a designated agricultural event.

Outstanding Senior in Agricultural Communication Award – Indiana Farm Bureau, Inc.
Recognizes a rising senior for his/her contributions to the public understanding of agriculture, outstanding academic performance, and involvement in professional and community activities. The winner receives a plaque and a $500 scholarship award.
     Application will be available in mid-December



Agricultural Education

Agricultural Education Scholarship and IAAE Purdue Distinguished Service Award Application
Use this award application to apply for ALL Agricultural Education Program Scholarships AND the IAAE Purdue Distinguished Service Award. All current Agricultural Education students Freshmen-Seniors who will be attending Purdue through May 2016 are encouraged to apply. The number of scholarships varies each year. Last year 29 were awarded. Up to 25 percent of IAAE Purdue membership may receive the Distinguished Service Award (DSA) each year. Submit cover sheet and IAAE-Purdue Activities Participation Sheet if only applying for DSA.

Agricultural Education Entering Freshman Scholarships Application
To apply for Agricultural Education Freshman Scholarships you must complete the College of Agriculture Scholarship Application. High school seniors accepted for enrollment in Agricultural Education for the Fall of 2015 are encouraged to apply.

Graduate

Harlan and Dorothy Parr Memorial Scholarship
The Harlan and Dorothy Parr Memorial Scholarship is awarded by the Parr family to graduate students pursuing an advanced degree in Youth Development and Agricultural Education. Each year, the Community Foundation of Greater Lafayette awards one student approximately $2,000 (varies annually) to help toward tuition and fees. The scholarship may be awarded in smaller amounts to 2 students not to exceed the annual allocation from the Community Foundation of Greater Lafayette. Application due date March 1 of each year

Butcher Fellowship for Agricultural Education
Established by Dale and Toni Butcher and friends for practicing Indiana Agricultural Science and Business teachers pursuing an advanced degree in Agricultural Education. One scholarship of approximately $1,000 will be awarded each year. Due date is June 1 of each year.
